Ok..what a horrible yesterday. I have just found out that 3 people I know have died.

All unrelated circumstances, it's just one of those unexplanable

life events that sometimes makes certain days worse than others.

So, we're all feeling a little zombified around here,

trying to keep up the spirits & still feel excited about our impending holiday.

It also happens to be my Husband's Birthday today, so some cheer is in order, if only just a little! I have decided to bake some cupcakes to fill the air with sweet, tasty love.

I encourage you to do so too. Life is all but a fleeting moment and as I've said before, everyday should be an occassion to bake cakes.

Plain Cupcake Recipe

( add your special little extras to make them uniquely yours!)

125g butter

1 tsp vanilla essence

3/4 cup caster sugar

2 eggs

1&1/2 cups SR flour

1/2 cup milk

Cream butter, essence and sugar in small bowl

with electric mixer until light and fluffy.

Beat in eggs one at a time, beat until combined.

Stir in half the sifted flour and half the milk,

then stir in remaining flour and milk.

Pour mixture into 12 patty pans (in a 12-hole muffin tray.)

Bake for 15 minutes in a moderate oven 190-200,

or if you want them 'peaked' slightly,

increase to moderately hot (210-220)

Tiny Angels
Tiny Angels rest your wings
sit with me for awhile.
How I long to hold your hand,
And see your tender smile.
Tiny Angel, look at me,I want this image clear....
That I will forget your precious face
Is my biggest fear.
Tiny Angel can you tell me,
Why you have gone away?
You weren't here for very long....
Why is it, you couldn't stay?
Tiny Angel shook his head,
"These things I do not know....
But I do know that you love me,
And that I love you so".
Author Unknown
In Memory of Max Angus Barker
who became an Angel of God today
You will be in our hearts forever

WHY WE LOVES GIFTS THAT JUST KEEP ON GIVING...

My husband & I received a fabulous gift voucher for Christmas from his beautiful Sisters, to treat ourselves for a night out on the town without our little man. Grandma & Grandpa came over to our house to babysit & we frocked up for our big night out. So, we headed down to the Steakhouse at Pier 35 in Port Melbourne & proceeded to eat & drink nearly $300 worth of food & top notch alcoholic beverages and do you know what we talked about all night? ... Our little man, who we missed all the way through dinner. We missed his "gobbledok" talk & his one way nonsensical conversation & of course his loving gazes & crazy giggles. Going out will never be the same again. You just never recover from being a parent & there's no going back to the life you once had before you had offspring. It's called Unconditional Love. And it will get you each every time you even think about getting up on that podium & flashing your boobies, or having that 5th shot of tequila. Praise the Lord for children or else we'd never grow up!
Oh by the way, it's 10pm we're already home & ready for bed. I told you!

Fuente Osmeña - What a great name..I just like saying it! Makes me sound worldy I think.
Fuente Osmeña, literally “Osmeña Fountain,” is located in an oval park in uptown Cebu City. The fountain was built to commemorate Cebu’s first waterworks system.

Our sun glowing in the smoky haze that is Melbourne this week. It reminded me of a hanging dining room lamp you would buy from Ikea. Very nice indeed.

Paediatrician's are HOT! Give them your money $$$$

So on a serious note, my Godson is in critical care at the Royal Children's at the moment. I cannot stress enough how lucky we are in this country to have a public health system that allows us to seek medical care no matter what financial situation we are in. The Melbourne Royal Children's Hospital is the best of its kind in Australia & families from all over this country choose to receive their care from the hospital & it's finest Doctors.

The Royal Children's is the only hospital in Australia to be able to offer the ECMO machine - extra corporeal membrane oxygenation - which is surgically inserted and effectively takes over the work of the heart and lungs. My Godson is currently connected to this machine & without it he would not be here, still fighting a strong battle to live. These machines as you can imagine, cost the equivalent of several houses put together, so every dollar counts. If you have never thought about donating before, maybe now is the time to evaluate. I surely have. I have seen where the money goes.

My close friend (and Mother of my Godson) has been staying at Ronald McDonald House for 2 months, as they came here for the medical care from interstate, and the charity of others has put a roof over her head, fed her, supported her & looked after her family & friends too. You just never think things like this could happen to you, but if the time was ever to avail, you would hope for the same generosity. They say what goes around comes back around, so why not put out a helping hand anyway you can and know that you are helping people & families just like yours to pull through the toughest situations that they have ever had to deal with.

If that's not a good enough reason, I spotted (no word of a lie) around 6 Paediatricians today and they were some of the most attractive people I have ever seen. It was like an episode of Grey's Anatomy, ( or a Calvin Klein Ad for that matter...except they were wearing scrubs & not underwear). So instead of shelling out your money to buy a glossy magazine to perv on Matthew McConaughey with his shirt off again, or Brad Pitt piggy-backing one of his orphans, give your money to charity instead & help support these doctors who bring kids back to life and look really hot doing it too.

Earth Day
Ahhh...how I love being an earthling. What a superb planet to inhabit! There are many things that I love about our dear planet, and here are some of my favourites in no particular order. Just to remind everyone that sometimes it's the little things that count, the little things that we sometimes forget about that make us happy, and that if we don't look after our home, or if we didn't have this precious home of ours at all, then we wouldn't be able to enjoy these novelties or luxuries that bring joy & love into our hearts each day.

I'm not the only Princess Y'know! I was thinking today, about Peter Andre & Jordan's little girl who is also named Princess. Although she is lucky enough to have the full name of "Princess Tiaamii" (because you can never have too many vowels in your name, those things are just too damned expensive!). Of course it is pronounced, Tee-ah-me and Jordan will have her little princess's name immortalised on her back in tattoo form for all the world to see. She is just way too classy!

My Saturday: Went to market, bought the pictured fine-goods & devoured them. Sat in my dressing gown watching a new release DVD called "In the Land of Women" and proceeded to eat a huge bowl of spaghetti bolognaise that my husband so kindly cooked for me. Now feeling gluttonous. Goodnight.

Don't like the life you've got? Why not try a virtual one?

Ok, do it's probably old news to most of you out there, but incase you've been hiding in an underground shelter protecting yoursleves from nuclear fallout and have only just surfaced to the year 2008, then you won't have a clue what I'm talking about.

Virtual lives are the nearest thing we get to our "real earth" lives being what we always wanted them to be. You can create everything yourself, create a new you, be a doctor, a lawyer, marry the most popular guy on the block, buy that ocean front property you've always dreamed of & build your perfect home. But as I found a couple of weeks ago, you still need money to buy happiness in the virtual world. Yes, you need to purchase your virtual land, purchase your virtual clothes & the more money you spend the trendier you will be.

As an article stated on the USA today website "Large swathes of undeveloped online property, some bearing an uncanny resemblance to a palm-studded West Coast beachfront idyll, are selling for up to $550 an acre." "Second Lifers are free to think big, and many do, so Linden (the creators behind Second Life) this spring began offering the ultimate prize for the acquisitive — the private virtual island. The going price: $980 up front and $195 a month to maintain.

Hhmmm... seems I don't have what it takes to even make it big in the virtual world. And that is money...and lots of it.

Another Epiphany that I will do nothing about &
thus not become wealthy!

I have this great idea to start another website. I will create a site that is dedicated to stylish trend-setting "designer couples" that have had children but still wish to travel the world, but hate the thought of having to stay at the "family -friendly" likes of the Holiday Inn chains or Travelodges..bleughh...

I will myself travel the world with my small child road-testing beautiful and unique boutique hotels & other stylish accommodation options & then I shall review them on my website & in my yet to be published best selling travel guide, "jet-setting baby".

I will also review dining options for that particular hotel and/or nearby eateries to assess whether they provide suitable meals for "little terrors" or if they frown upon you bringing your own mashed up shit-in-a-can. Maybe I could even provide a city guide for how to get around town & things to do with a child under 5. It would just be like working on the "Great Outdoors" but I get to bring my little master monmon along for the ride..and if I made enough money out of it I could bring Mr Monmon along too! Oohh..the thought!! Where do I start?

HELLO DONKEY...YOU ARE ONE OF MY FAVOURITE ANIMALS.

I took a road trip into the country today & caught up with some of my donkey pals Ferdinand & Theodora at Lavandula Lavender Farm (http://www.lavandula.com.au/). Which made me think, I don't really know much about donkeys, but I sure do love them & their dopey eyes, their velvety soft hair & funny long ears. So thanks to elevenses llamas & donkey farmers website (http://www.elevensesllamas.com) for these top 5 tips about my favourite asses.

1. Donkey… refers to the same animal as ass and burro. A male donkey is a jack, a female is a jennet or jenny. Cross-breeding between a male donkey and a female horse gives you a mule; between a male horse and a female donkey yields a hinny.

2. Donkeys have an average life expectancy of 40-50 years. As a result they tend to mature slowly. No training involving carrying any weight should be done before the age of three years. Females are generally not bred until three years of age.

3. Donkeys bray (or hee-haw). Some are better (and louder) at it than others.

4. Miniature donkeys have the cross on their backs. Other donkeys may have it too, but all miniatures do

5. If you get on the donkeys level, he will generally put his chin on your shoulder. This is a donkey hug. Enthusiastic huggers can knock you over.

Farewell Old mate...Skins takes a dark turn for the worse..

ok, so I know it's only a tv show & that I am totally obsessed, but I must mention it on here dear blog, that I am absolutely gutted & flabergasted that Chris was killed off in Skins last night. I haven't felt this way since Dylan left 90210. Is this a housewife thing to get so involved in a fictional character from a drama series, or am I reverting back to my teenage years? Whatever it is, I don't care..I shall mourn until next weeks episode, which will only make things worse as its the final of the series & I'll have to wait another year until things will come good again (and that's if they ever will)...ho..humm...

TOP 10 FOODS BEING AUCTIONED BY CRAZY PEOPLE BECAUSE THEY THOUGHT THEIR FOOD "LOOKED LIKE SOMETHING"
OK..SO I AM ADDICTED TO EBAY, AND EVEN SCARIER IS THE FACT THAT I SPEND HOURS TRAWLING THROUGH PAGES LOOKING FOR WEIRD CRAP LIKE THIS. I DON'T KNOW WHY I DO IT, IT'S ALMOST AS ADDICTIVE AS GOOGLE IMAGE SEARCHING "OVERLY, OBESE PETS" **(Note to self: Must do top 10 list for images of tubby animals I have found). HOPE YOU ENJOY MY LIST FOR TONIGHT. I HAVE ADDED ALL THESE FANTASTIC ITEMS TO MY "ITEMS WATCHING" LIST & WILL UPDATE YOU ALL AS TO HOW MUCH MONEY THEY FETCHED. These items are in no particular order of favourites, but I will say that I have a penchant for number 10 & all it's glory.

1. Heart Shaped M & M - Eat your Heart Out! Heart Shaped - Lucky M&M, Blue HeartYou are bidding on a coupon redeemable for a lite, blue heart-shaped M&M. It is a lucky M&M that will give you peace and love. This morning, I opened a new bag of M&Ms (pictured below.) It is the bunny mix - spring colors. The heart-shaped, blue M&M came out as soon as I opened the bag. It is a light blue color and it is the same color featured on the bag. My kids looked at it and said, "WOW it is a heart! How lucky is that?" It is a little smaller than a quarter, and it is not a consumable product.Because, it is a heart shaped M&M, whoever has it will have luck and be at peace in some way. Whether you are looking for love, stressed, or wanting some luck; holding this lucky M&M will give you the satisfaction you are looking for.The meaning of blue is.... the feeling of peace and spiritual awareness. What a perfect meaning for a heart shaped M&M.

2.Cadbury Mini Egg In the Shape of a Boob - Here's your chance to own the one and only Cadbury Mini Egg that is in the shape of a old lady boob, complete with weird nipple!! Nothing has been modified--it is how I found it when it poured from my bag of mini eggs. Don't let this fun and festive conversation piece pass you by! Buyer pays shipping and Good Luck!!
Question & Answer to Seller as on Ebay
Q: Does the mini boob produce chocolate milk? :-)Apr-06-08
A: We can hope but I neither sucked on it or made any other attempt at milking...Great question though

3. Alien Monster Skull Cornflake - This is no typical weird flake it is a partial three-dimensional flake of what appears to be a skull or head of some sort. To me it looks very much like the Picture next to it of the Alien baby monster's skull from Alien Resurrection! What it looks like to you is fine too! As you can see in the other picture below it has a hollow eye socket in an upside down heart shape! Sorry it's not a State or a Holy image. It is something new and fresh at least and at last! There are no fancy stories behind this flake except I knew I would be a flake not to save it-plus you can't help but notice a flake that seems to stare back at you! LOL. Who will bid on it who knows? Perhaps a devoted Alien or Monster fan but one thing is certain I will be sad to see it go. A devoted collector OR serious corn flake Flake! has to have this!!! A flake like this just does not come along everyday! Of all the cereal bowls in all the world you had to show up in mine. Oh yes, by the way DON'T eat it :) As if I had to tell you that! Sorry-There are NO returns on this item! Oh and if you want to see what it looks like on the other side? You need to Win the bid to find out! PLUS I revised this ad I accidently had the shipping at $10 it is $5 now!

4.Chicken Washington the First Chicken Nugget President George Washington in Nugget form - Own a piece of history. CHICKEN WASHINGTON is our First Presidential Chicken Nugget. Discovered in the glorious state of George Washington's birth Virginia (coincidence) at the Carytown McDonalds in Richmond. This historic and recognizable profile was found nestled among a patriotic 10 piece combo. Standing out among chicken as he did among men CHICKEN WASHINGTON distinguished himself as a leader. Too valuable to be dipped in honey sauce CHICKEN WASHINGTON made the trip back inside the pocket of an 11 year old boy whose sharp and patriotic eyes first spotted him in combo meal #9. CHICKEN WASHINGTON has weathered a year in our kitchen. Like the true father of Chicken Nuggets he has not molded, rotted, or gone bad. Upstanding in character he has hardened over the past year in order to meet his celebrated destiny- you, gentle bidder. A quote directly from George Washington himself should compel you to do your patriotic best "Few men have virtue to withstand the highest bidder." Own a piece of history today!

5.Onion Ring Shaped Like Letter "e" - Up for auction is a deep fried onion ring that my daughter received the other night with her dinner. It is shaped like a small letter "e". She thought is was really cute, and said to me "Hey Dad lets list this on e-Bay"! So here it is, just think of the possibilities, Nascar fans, #88 "Little e", "e"xtra cash for you, "e"xtreme posslbilites to let your friends think of things they can spell! It measures approx 1 1/2" X 1 1/2" square, the batter is cracked, shown in picture. This is NO RESERVE AUCTION so have fun!! Winning bidder to pay a fixed rate of shipping of $5.00. All sales final No-Returns, sold AS-IS.

6. Image Of Jesus Christ Praying on a Cheese Crunch Chip - Earlier today I was sitting on my chair next to my desk when I Opened up my bag of cheese crunch chips. I grabbed some chips out of the bag and noticed this peculiar looking Cheese Crunch Chip. As I took a closer look at it. I found that it had a Strong Resemblance to The Image Of Jesus Praying. I couldn't believe my eyes. As I continued to look at the details of the shape of the cheese crunch chip, I realized that it does look very much like an image of Jesus Praying with his hands together. You can see the shape of the hair of Jesus. The details of Jesus Praying with his hands together.
Take a good look at the photos I took and I posted with this auction. You will see yourself that he is praying. This is just amazing, If no one bids on this i will keep this for myself forever. This cheese crunch has NEVER BEEN ALTERED in any way, shape, or form.
7. Pancake Puppy - This is a real pancake that my daughter made. She was trying to make a pancake that looked like the silhouette of Micky Mouse. But when she flipped the little pancake, one ear fell off and the remaining part became the tail. The facial features of the puppy are completely created by the random working of the heat and the pan interacting with the pancake batter. The pancake is now stored in a sealed plastic bag in the freezer. This is not a hoax or gimmick. What you see is what you get.

8. Butt Nut - : All bow to the : Butt Nut, Two conjoined hazelnuts (filberts) which have the strange resemblance to that part of the human anatomy which has fascinated mankind since the dawn of time Perhaps the first effort of natural selection to try to copy a very successful shape. Maybe an effort to help sustain the species? I don't know nuts too well. This may be clone able or more realistically plant able. One could foresee an entire tree covered with the titillating shapes. An entrepreneurial ticket to easy street.
No refunds The Butt nut is yours for better or worse

9. Mr & Mrs Carrot - Here's a pair you don't wanna let go!
Mr. and Mrs. Carrot - The Perfect Collectible Vegetable!
Definitely a freak of nature...they were found in the very same bag purchased at the supermarket! Man measures 8" long, woman measures 7" long. Anatomically Incorrect for sure! Couldn't pass this one up!

10. X-Rated Tangerine Orange - This naughty freak of nature is a never-before-seen "botanical sport" or mutation which has occurred and is still growing on a young Murcott Honey Tangerine tree at our place here at Orlando, Florida. It has been reported to citrus authorities. Whatever caused this to occur, it is a very rare occurrence, and we have never before seen such an anomaly in Citrus, even when we have personally harvested thousands of Valencia oranges from several hundred trees we used to take care of. It appears to be something of the nature of a Siamese twin. If so inclined, the successful buyer will be free to conduct scientific studies or simply add the item to a gallery of erotic fruit and vegetables.

Saturday...cleaning day....how can one have so many clothes & shoes? Where does all the dust come from when all our windows are painted shut? Where is my bracelet that fell on the floor over a month ago, I heard it, but now I can't see it? Why do I have a washing basket completely full of odd socks? I look at it every day and still I do nothing about it. It literally is the "too hard basket". What an ugly job, no wonder people get people in to do it for them.

WHY IS OLD STUFF SO AWESOME?

Went down to Chapel Street Bazaar & rifled through all the weird & wonderful items from yesteryear. It has to be one of my fav places in this town of Melburn. It makes me want to by more crud off of Ebay & set up my own stall and charge wealthy fashionistas top dollar for it & make squillions myself...ahhhh..what a dream.

Items that tempted me there today were: Old church prayer stool with padded kneeling platform, boomerang shaped coffee table from the 1950's with indigenous paintwork so obviously painted by middle-class, white, factory worker, italian statue of Our Sacred Lady with her nose chipped off. Alas, I did not make any purchases in this over-priced flea market. Instead I chose to buy a bunch of asparagus, some baby chat potatoes & a bunch of pink Singapore Orchids across the road at the Prahran Market. Food is always a wise investment.

I like the colour combo & matching shoes. A lot of thought has been put into this outfit.
Good Morning World!

ahhh...Friday is upon us and it's time to have a hot milo & search the internet for beautiful things yet again. What a week it has been. I can't even remember what I did..let me think for a bit. Wait, it's all coming back to me now. Just like the classic Celine song.

MY OTHER OBESSION - SKINS...AHHH..HOW I LONG FOR ANOTHER EPISODE ALREADY!
Who needs more in life really? Jal is pregnant with Chris's baby, Chris is Dying, Cassie loves Syd, Syd loves Cassie but she's a freak, Tony loves Nips & Nips loves him...teen drama at it's best for me to indulge, a guilty pleasure, just like eating a whole box of frosty fruits on a hot summer's day.
